Why was the movie never given a release in the U.S?
I was just wondering why is that this film was never given a wide release in the U.S? I guess the most logical reason was to its graphic sexual content.

The difference is stuff like Moon, Antichrist, and The Hurt Locker have all received Region 1 DVD releases by major companies--whereas Ken Park has never gotten an official release in the US. It has nothing to do with it being an independent film, and everything to do with its controversial subject matter (not to mention a perceived lack of interest, at this point).
For the record, I realize Antichrist hasn't been released yet, but it's been announced for a Nov. 9 release by none other than Criterion.
I'm pretty sure due to some songs in the soundtrack and copyright.
