They, like every other character in the movie, ceased to exist once the credits started rolling. Their universe and their presence in it winked out, so nothing happened to any of them, ever.
The script actually was longer, with more scenes. However, this script was shortened in the production process, cutting out scenes, including that after the ending. I have not been able to find the full original script.
