The scene where Helen Hunt looks down at Mel's crotch and keeps turning away saying,"Oh, I just looked at his penis!!!! OH! I DID IT AGAIN"

Just want to get your opinion on what's so wrong about this seemingly "hilarious" scene.I know the answer. But I want to see if you guys do.

It's on TV at the moment and that scene was just on.

It would be pretty weird if a person you were having a conversation with suddenly started covering their eyes and turning away for no apparent reason.

I think it's great makes me laugh everytime I watch it. I guess I don't know what's so wrong with it,,,I really want to know what you think is so wrong with it.

I think farmerphill pretty much explained it. The whole business of her reacting so physically and obviously...to a fleeting thought. It doesn't seem realistic. Funny, though.

But it isn't a fleeting thought, it is obviously a shared moment that usually goes unspoken. However since Nick can hear her thoughts it's all that funnier to him, and he is confident enough to do it a 2nd time, to which it's obvious he is on to her and she knows it.

It's interesting that in the movie she says "penis", but when the trailer shows that scene she says "crotch". Guess the movie and the trailer had different ratings.

I think crotch is the funnier word though, actually. It's a weird sounding word and it does have the "k" sound that most people say makes a word funnier. I guess they preferred shock value though.
