What is GREAT about this movie...
Overall, it's ranked about right by IMDb at a 6.4. It's a little bit clever but not as much as it should be. However...
This might be the best movie portrayal of the affect of empathy that I have ever seen. Once you can empathize with someone, you become much less likely to hurt them. Seriously, Nick transforms from womanizing misogynist to caring human being only because of his ability to hear the thoughts of women. He initially intends to use this gift to exploit women, but comes to care about them more deeply once he can empathize with their worries, fears etc. I've seen the movie before, but this message hit me quite powerfully when I saw it on cable the other night and just started watching along.
This is a theme we need to explore in these political times.
