even if he was smoking throughout the whole set on even stevens, what does it matter? he's a teenager - and teenagers do experiment with things like that.

He did smoke (not necessarily during Even Stevens I think he was older when he started) but he gave it up for transformers and I don't think he has picked it back up yet. So maybe he won't. (I got this info from an interview with Shia Labeouf himself, I dont remember exactly which one but it was from right before Disturbia came out on DVD.)
yeah, he probably did smoke when he was doing even stevens. But I think it's awfully smart of him to kick the habit. Not because everybody hates smoking now - but because he's doing an increasing number of physical films, and the damage from smoking is probably hampering his attempts at his job.
