Recurring 'Not To Scale' joke on Aussie newscasts, LMAO!!
I'm a "Yank", and think this is a great flick, and really enjoyed all the understated and "background" comedy.
I'm not sure what the quality of network TV news was in Oz in the late 60s, but the producers of 'The Dish' chose to lampoon them as Monty Python-esque bumblers. To wit, every illustration or animation they did was "Not to Scale", and to a ridiculous extent! e.g. on their "space map", the Earth and Moon were so close together (almost touching), that they couldn't even show how the ship was 1/3 of the way there! Later, when the moon walk was imminent, the presenter is holding an astronaut doll, all suited up, and it's 4 times the size of the lunar module model, and he says "we have to stress, this is NOT to scale"... it was just so hokey, like crappy made-in-ChiCom toys you find at a flea market, LMAO!
