I'm just kidding :) I noticed there wasn't a "worst movie ever" topic inhere, and since it's mandatory to have one in every single movie-forum, there it is.
I actually kinda liked the movie. Was it based on a true story?
It's an adaptation of a novel written by Edward Bunker, who was a career criminal and spent a lot of time in prison. It's not a "true story" strictly speaking, but I'm sure that most of the individual characters and elements in the book were at least inspired by, if not outright based on, real people and/or events that Bunker witnessed.

If this movie was more well-known, I guarantee that there would have been a "worst movie ever" thread from someone who genuinely meant it. It seems like a rule that every single actor or movie, no matter how universally respected, has to have at least a few haters. Christ, I'm quite sure that there are people who think Robert de Niro or Jack Nicholson are the worst actors ever, or that "Goodfellas" is the worst movie ever.
As it is, this movie seems to be quite obscure. The only reason I even know about its existence is because I own the book that the movie was based on. I never saw any ads or reviews for the movie or any indication that it was playing in any theaters near me, and it seems from the "release dates" and "box office" sections of the film's IMDB entry that it had, at most, a VERY limited release.

wow, I never thought I'd get a reply on this :D But I guess you're right... It was spared by the plebs because it never reached the level where it would get their attention.
