Underrated....

I don't mean to say underrated as in review and all that, i mean underrated as in, this movie deserves to be known, I was shocked to see only a few comments.

in my opinion this is edward furlongs 2nd best performance, right aside american history x.

all though not my favorite furlong flick, my favorite is brainscan, and detroit rock city.

anyways if you are looking to get this movie, it is worth it.

I guess this movie wasn't heard of because the prison life stories were just drained out, but this is definitely one worth picking up, if you like prison flicks.

I totally agree, it's a brilliant film but when I mention it to people they say they have never heard of it. I wonder why :-(

its a good flick, I saw it for the first time the other night. its on cable this month. But I do think Shawshank Redemption and Escape from Alcatraz are better films. The thing I liked the most about AF is the realism this film portrays. I think this is about as close as it gets to what its like being in prison.... but then again, how would I know? i`ve never been to prison?

This movie is so awesome.

Unfortunately I don't think it's "rated" at all. Does anybody even know about this movie? Not really. Like everyone says It's great and it should be known about

reply

Yeah, it's a pretty damn good movie. Willem Dafoe is really good in this. I'm proud of Buscemi, who is probably my favorite actor.

Steve Buscemis like bread in a sandwich. Most attention goes on the filling because it gives the flavour but u need it there just to make it perfect and to hold it together. Hes is awesome. And so is bread.

this film is good even if its just for defoes perfomance/likeable character alone he was totally convincing as the "man you don't f uck with in prison". a true mob style intellectual leader. i also liked the more realistic approach as opposed to glorified escape attempts and prison take-overs. the arty soundtrack was also brilliant, anyone know who wrote the music for the film? im dying to know.

Im perhaps hoping this might get more recognition soon, like Tress Loumge,as is a very good movie.

Agreed. This film deserves to be a lot better known. Furlong did a fine job as the naive and scared Ron.
