I bet there's a lot of back story on him in the book so you should check it out. Very interesting character - kind of motherly to chicken little Ed (probably why Ed was placed in with him) yet big and ripped (love those abs!!). I pictured him as having been in prison long enough to have made friends (with benefits) to look out for him and probably can fight too. Maybe all the cross dressers stick together. He and Tom Arnold both did a great job with their characters. I didn't understand why Tom (who stands out as a loner) attacked Ed before checking to see if DeFoe's character (the "ugly/bald guy") or anyone else was protecting him. Doesn't seem like a smart move.
