Most people don't look deeply enough into this gem to realize it's greatness. A very original plot with complex and courageous characters make this movie a must own! The special effects are of astounding quality, especially the spider. Wow. Just wow.

the special-effects are pretty bad for a movie filmed in the year 2000... the spider looks plastic and the story is laughable (guy turns into a giant spider << both plot and cineastic realizatione are horrible), but thats not wanted!!! also the characters are not reliable.

I don't agree. I did not like the acting, the special effects were laughable, and there were even no original ideas. Another problem was the director Gary Jones, who directed the movie without a personel touch, so he destroyed anything what could have been exciting. However there is another movie with a very low score on Imdb, Tale of the Mummy, wich I consider to be underrated, so in that way I can see your point. You liked the film, came to this site and saw the score it got, I know what you mean.
