some questions

1. The guy that ditched Carl is a guy that hated him from day one simply because he was black. Can't remember his name, been a while since I've seen the movie. The guy who had his air hose tangled up was another student that gained respect for Carl after he saved his life

2. This is the guy that ditched Carl. He was given credit for the rescue instead of Carl. He stands there after everyone walks away because he knows that he didn't deserve it.

3. Captain Hanks was an officer on the ship where Carl first saw Master Chief Sunday. A helicopter crashed and sank next to the boat. Sunday brought up the first pilot and the second diver was dropped in without a hose. Sunday disobeyed and order from Hanks and performed a bounce dive (down real fast, up real fast), saving both the second pilot and the second rescue diver.

4. After the events in #3, Hanks had Sunday demoted for disobeying an order. Sunday was upset that he was no longer able to dive (the bounce dive made it where another deep dive would kill him with the pressure) and blamed this on Hanks as well as the demotion from Master Chief (highest rank for an enlisted man in the Navy).

5. This was a nuke both the Americans and the Russians were looking for that crashed with a plane. No one sent him the bomb, it was buried under the sand on the ocean floor. A Soviet sub passed by while Carl was down searching for the bomb, and it churned up the sand, "un-burrying" the bomb, making it possible for Carl to find.
