It's a great movie. Carl's life is touching. And the acting is so emotional. The scene at the end made me cry the first time i saw it. The lines De Niro says to motivate Carl are just awesome. I don't get why some of you people don't like it. Who else thought it was touching?

it was touching, being objective
but the reason why it doesnt have a good score, is the redneck white trash on imdb just cant have a film about a strong black character "sticking it to the man" :p
it's true, u can check all the films in wich a black person plays a significant role, it just won't do that well on imdb

morgan freeman played a significant role in shawshank, imdb rating = #2.
sam jackson in pulp fiction, imdb rating = #9
laurence fishbourne in the matrix = #34
don cheadle, hotel rwanda = #51
marlon wayans, requiem = #54
etc etc
