This Movie was LAME
This Movie was very Lame and predictable. It was So lame I wanted the guy to fail in the navy. I have Nothing against blacks, just bad movies.

Since the movie was based on a true story, the character of Carl had to be as good as the actual person it portrayed.

This is one of my favorite movies dispite the reviews for it. I love diving myself so seeing the old fashion dives being done is a treat. I also love the story of triumph. Him losing a leg and being able to do what he did was amazing. They whole Chief Sunday character was actually a Hollywood addition to the story, but the fact that he was able to become the first black navy diver is enough to make me enjoy it.

if you said the movie was so predictable and he had to struggle at first - think about it, he's a cook on a ship for a long time until he made the stand to go swimming on a non-colored dive day, and 2 years after he made up his mind about being a diver he was finally admitted... plus 2 years wasnt enough he had to wait another 12 or so hours outside the gates
