MstChf Billy Sundays' Movie Lines were great....What do you guys think??

This was a great movie.

In my opinion, what made it great was DeNiro's role as Master Chief
Billy Sunday. If this character wasn't portaid the way he was
(as only Mr. DeNiro could do!!) this movie would not have been half as good. Deniro should've gotten at least nominated for an academy award.

Sunday's scenes and lines in the movie are some of the most memorable I've ever heard in my life!!!

There were many, but I think my most favorite was when Cookie and Sunday are in the bar sizing each other up and debating on who's the better sailor/ diver/ man.......

Sunday then proceeds to tell Cookie of the story about the WWII Naval Battle in which the ship he was on was sunk and was forced to swim back up to the surface as his only means of escape and survial.......

...... I had to swim up 5 decks with dead bodies floatin' and bumpin' all around me...

.......5 decks Cookie!! 5 f*k'n decks!!!

......You gotta have your balls screwed on tight for that swim, Muthaf*ker

......So you think you're better than me??? Well lets just see!!!

Awesome!!!! Very Old School. My best friend in high school said he served in the Navy with a few old salty sea-dogs that he said were alot like that.

Can anybody else here remember and recite his lines?????

Any Navy veterans or Sailors here that would be willing to concur with that and share their own Mst Chief Billy Sunday War stories are more than welcome to feel free do so. I'm sure that'll be interesting to hear.

I was a Navy Diver and had the honor and privilege of meeting BSCM(MDV)(ret) Brashears. Scott Smith and he were doing research for the screenplay and stopped by our dive station to talk to us. As would be the nature of great men such as Mr. Brashears he was very unassuming and friendly. I admit that I didn’t know much of his story when we met, but did know divers that had worked with him. Meeting and talking with him was a time in my life that I will never forget.

The movie did the training and life of Navy Divers complete justice.

Excellent post MI_Diver67. Now I like the movie more.

And I agree, the dialogs were excellent.
