It's not really helpfull though is it?
I never understand people who just say 'it was rubbish' or 'it was great'.
I come on here a lot of the time to check a film out and to see weather i should watch it or if it'll be interesting to me.
If you're going to criticise a film, justify your argument. If you don't justify it, people don't really pay attention to your post so therefore there's no point in you posting is there?
Films and websites like this are about perception and debate, it's got 6.9 out of 10 stars so its a good score, and in the bigger picture it has come out as a decent film... to which i agree. It was a good film.

It seems you have fallen into your own self-described category of unhelpful posters, to which the OP certainly belongs. Now I'm curious why you thought it was a "good film".
Personally, I thought it was mediocre. It's purely archetypal. These days, movies about overcoming racism and prejudice are a dime a dozen. They are all so much alike as to amplify their average-ness. Nobody in this movie excelled or showed any complexity in character, except maybe De Nero.
It certainly sways a little close to complete predictability to be a great film, but it's a solid way to spend 2 hours. While it's true that films of this ilk are a dime a dozen, the whole deep sea diving motif at least gave it a little bit of novelty. And Robert De Niro is imply incapable of not being brilliant.

Well said, i had high expectations of this film and have to say i was seriously let down.

I loved this movie. Its so deep in story and leaves you will a good feeling in the end. It created a great contrast of not belonging and the struggles of being discriminated. The music, the great acting just made it such an brilliant movie. I really can't see why you dont like it, your the first person that I have met hat doesn't love the movie nevermind like it and if lived in scotland and austarlia.

I’m sorry that you feel like this, but if this movie is as good as you seem to think it is and I am the only person who doesn’t like it, answer me this; why isn’t it in the top 250 movies according to imdb and why isn’t it in your top 20?
Again I have to apologise, I find it hard to take your argument seriously when Kickboxer is in your top 20.
I feel that you should watch more films, get a better insight, you know?
I do think that if you watch more thought provoking films you will agree with me.

Dead Mans Shoes is an excellent, very underrated film.
Certainly infinitely more entertaining and thought provoking than MOH (which I didn't hate at all).

I agree. I had the misfortune of seeing this movie yesterday in a waiting room. This movie was SO predictable and corny, it was made by someone who WANTED to win an Oscar. If they did, shame on the Oscars! Every line near the end was just over-done, and it makes me like Cuba Gooding Jr. a little less now, although I'm sure he just did it for the money.

I agree with the OP. This movie IS dreadful. This script was LAUGHABLE. The pacing was INCREDULOUS. I cannot fathom anyone giving this over a 7. This movie wishes it could be Forrest Gump, but never had a chance.
