Especially the officer in charge of the diving school. The actor was excellent who played the role in the movie, but it shows you on how it use to be like in the military back then.

Don't let some stupid white bigots represent an entire race of people. Thousands of of white people have died trying to libertate African Americans.

Well said, kbdaly. This is not directed at the OP, but too often people take a movie like this as an example of "white bashing" or "reverse racism," or otherwise think that it represents some "politically correct" liberal agenda. There's nothing politically correct about telling the truth. Things like this happened, and racism was an accepted part of American society for a long time. (And, as kbdaly points out, that doesn't mean all whites were racist.) Pretending it didn't happen doesn't make white people look any better; it just makes us look foolish and afraid to face the truth.

Very well stated, agree 100%

reply

No such thing as "reverse racism" - it's just racism.

reply

You are correct about that.

Of it did. That was the goal. Didn't you get the memo? White people bad; non white good. That's been our immigration policy for 40 years.

Our government requires this for all diversity training so that all those pesky qualifications that Brashear passed don't get in the way the next time.

Yes I know what you mean about that and have to agree with you, but the times have changed though. We are still fighting this racism every day here in the United States and all over the world though.

Well, yes there is that feeling that comes with any film dealing with those times and before, but what struck me as really sad was how we as Black people have squandered what that man and many others before him worked so hard for. As it stands if it were not for this film would we even know who Carl was? And what are we doing to honor them?

reply

You don't have to see the movie to hate white people nowadays. Just look what is happening now in America... Very sad.

reply

Don't judge an entire race by negative interactions with a few!

So of all the things in recorded history, the movie "Men of Honor" is your reason for hating white people?
