The title explains itself, "The Way of the Gun" is one of my favorites films in the whole world, but the Critics and Audiences weren't kind with it, now it has become a cult film but he still hasn't been able of have another directing job, i heard that he has writen "The Wolverine" and with Arronofsky out i think that he should direct it.

EXCLUSIVE: Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions are negotiating with Tom Cruise to star this fall in One Shot, a thriller based on the Lee Child book series about former military policeman-turned-drifter Jack Reacher. Christopher McQuarrie will direct his script. The talks going on right now is for Cruise to make the movie before he stars in the Joseph Kosinski-directed Oblivion at Universal, which starts in January.
Hahahahahahahaah, Just yesterday i was thinking about that and then this appears, God this has been one of the greatest news (for me), on another note i think that he should be the one to direct "The Wolverine", what do you think?

I think Chris McQuarrie is a fycking genius. But Hollywood is all politics.

I too think that McQuarrie is a genius, but is not exactly about politics more about the money, ans thats sad.

I would hate to see McQuarrie's return to directing be the worst cast movie in history.
Jack Reacher is 6'5" tall, 220+lbs, with a 50" chest and dirty blond hair.
His height is a defining characteristic. His physical presence is intimidating. He towers over everybody he encounters.
You can dye Cruise's hair, but you can't dye a foot of height onto that midget's frame.

Well, that doesn't tell you anything, a 13 year old girl can be any height. But I will say that Tom Cruise is about 5'5" without lifts, which he generally wears to get him to 5'8" or even a bit more. (He reports himself as 5'9" and many sites claim he is 5'7".)
However, I've read the report about casting in many places so it's genuine. I've even read the Lee Child is OK with it.

I know after Usual Suspects McQuarrie wanted to direct his Alexander The Great Project. I thought it was going to happen. Obviously it did not and we got Way of The Gun instead. I am not complaining.
If Cruise is going to star in One Shot, then I would rather McQuarrie not direct. I just cannot stand Cruise. I never could since 87. I would much rather see McQuarrie direct the new Wolverine movie. I am hoping that since McQuarrie wrote the screenplay we will have a much improved sophomore entry into the Wolverine series.
