Where does this film take place? I know it was filmed in Utah, but I want to know where the sperm bank was(in the realm of the film, not filming location).

Two clues;
I saw a New Mexico plate on the body guard's car.
They mention taking highway 19 south. Highway 19 in the US is in Florida and Dakota. He must have meant Mexican Federal Highway 19, but that is on the Mexi-Cali coast, nowhere near New Mexico.

Is it a fictional unnamed location like in the film Se7en?

Anyone know the answer?

I seriously doubt you're going to get an answer to this one. The sperm bank no doubt is a fictional business and trying to pin point exactly where a shot was filmed seems like a fool's errand.

Considering you have continued to bump this question for three years, I have to wonder why it's so important to you.

In any case, since you bring up the fact that it was filmed in Utah, I have to point out that I can recognize a few of the shots as being places in downtown Salt Lake City.

I do not think you understood my question, or did not read it through, but from what you are laying down I am picking up that it is like the film Se7en in that the city is a fictional location. OK, but that makes me wonder why they used real highway names, and highways that exist in locations that COULD coincide with the events of the film, but at the same time do not add up with the license plates or each other. Then the fact it was filmed in Utah, but New Mexico plates are on the cars... argh!

Anyways, it seems like you are probably right(if I am extrapolating correctly) and the director deliberately made it completely ambiguous.
