Alex Taylor's exit is one of the saddest and most shocking...

...deaths I've ever seen.

Such a sad season finale.

Yeah, when she landed on the ground I figured it was a head injury or something, but when her legs landed on the ground beside her I was rather shocked. Did not see that coming.

Definitly the most shocking (and gruesome) death I have ever seen on TV. When it happened I remember sitting there for several minutes going holy **** did that really just happen. Even the next day I still couldnt believe what had happened. When talking about sad, shocking gruesome deaths on tv with people who havent seen Third Watch the other people are always so sure the scene they are refering to is the one until I describe (or sometimes provide a link) to Alexs death scene. Even people who have no prior knowledge of the show so no emotional connection to the characters have agreed that Alexs death was the most sad, shocking, gruesome death they have ever seen (or heard of) in a TV show.

I got a question about her death. ok. So we see her landing on the ground, but her legs land a good couple seconds later. How did the vehicle make her legs go all the way up to her head? It was very horrific and it make me feel very very sorry for Alex. It might be weird to say but I had a respect for Alex pre-death after I saw that.

be that way.

Obviously, they didn't want to be too graphic on television, but I got the impression that something basically cut her in half. Think of the scene in Die Hard 3, right after they board the ship via the winch cable. The cable cut a terrorist in half after the pickup truck got pulled off the bridge. McClane tells Zues to grab the guy's legs. Then you see them side by side each pulling half of the terrorist.

reply

Yeah that is still one of the best (worst) deaths on TV. Completely shocking and unexpected considering it was only halfway through the episode!

The car exploded. Watch Black Hawk Down. There is a scene in the movie that depicts what happened in real life, when an RPG hit the top of the humvee, and the Navy Seal got severed in half from the blast. Same thing happened to Alex.

"Tell my mom it didn't hurt" gets me every time.

Totally unexpected, which is what the writers wanted. Good job.
Alex seldom caught a break, then for that to happen ... sad.
