Cruz 's death

My recollection of the last episode is that she knew she was ill with leukemia, and as such was going to die soon, and she deliberately chose to kill herself that way for one simply reason. Wyclef Jean as the gang leader recognized her as a warrior type of personality that would go on fighting in some way no matter way to beat the bad, which means that if she had to be beaten it would be in a way that would have her go out honourable as she saw it, and by taking several gang members with her she died on her terms as to her health as well as to justice a.k.a. she chose to die that way so she could go out in a blaze of glory in more ways than one as it turned out so she could die on her terms.

Yes, she died on her own terms. She knew she was going to die either way. She could die after going through treatment, weak and beaten from the cancer, or she could take her own life, and while doing that, kill some gang members, simultaneously making the streets safer, getting revenge for the war they started on the house, and protecting her people.
