Try "Clean and Sober" with Michael Keaton. Its a little darker that 28 Days, but does a good job communicating how hard it is for someone with a problem to realize they have to admit it before they can do anything about it.
This message board sure generates alot of traffic over 28 Days, pro and against. I personally loved the film because I am a recovering addict and went through rehab.
I know it wasnt 100% accurate but I console myself with the mantra "ITS A MOVIE!" It was entertaining and it did hit some good points, at least from my experience and point of view.

Days of Wine and Roses(1962) is a very powerful movie, as well as enjoyable. It has Jack Lemmon in it. Probably one of the best alcoholic portrayal movie's out there.
shareI would also reccommend CLEAN AND SOBER with Michael Keaton, a harrowing drama that not only chronicles the diseaase of addiction but shows how rehabilitation works as well. Most films on this subject usually center on one part of the story or the other.
