Cigarettes

In the beginning of the movie, Sandra does not have access to cigarettes. Then aside from smoking with her counselor she is seen smoking with the other patients quite a bit. Does anyone know why the cigarette rule changed? At first I thought it was just because it was visiting day, but other times people smoke. Any thoughts?

they were always allowed to have ciggarettes, when she went to the store they were just all sold out, if you pay attention to the scene you can see the empty ciggarette racks on the wall.
