The REAL issue with the RE movie

Whether or not the film is good or bad is not the issue. The issue is that fans of the RE video game were looking forward to movie based on the game. The movie had almost nothing to do with the video game, and now it's unlikely they'll ever get a movie actually based on the game. That's why the gamers are upset. There is no RE movie, there is just a zombie which happens to share the RE name.

Can you imagine if the X-Men movie was just a movie about a group of super heroes, but not the actual X-Men or the X-Men storyline?

Or, if the Lord of the Rings movies were just sword and sorcery movies about some random group of adventurers but not the Lord of the Rings storyline?
