O Brother, Where Art Thou? Little Daughters/Litte Girls

I am trying to find out what is the name of the song the little girls are singing when George Clooney and company finally reach the destination of George's wife? They also sing this song at the end of the movie when George and Holly Hunter are talking about the ring and getting remarried. They are all tied to each other and the last little girl stops in the middle of the railroad tracks to see the blind man on it. She is finally pulled away from the tracks as they are walking away and out of the picture. They were so cute singing that song! My husband and I absolutely loved this movie.

As best I can recall, the song was either "Angel Band" or "I'll Fly Away." You may also recognize this tune from the film, rendered by the Peasall Sisters (who actually performed all the "Wharvey Gals" songs in the movie.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua8_Xq8HASE At the time the movie was made, the youngest was 5, the next eldest 7, and the oldest girl 11 years.

In this clip (fairly recent) the grown-up sisters sing "Angel Band." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2-Sf_yHQfU

Doug:
Thank you for your answer. I appreciate the time you took to answer my burning question. lol I really do appreciate that. Sylvia :-)

You're entirely welcome, Sylvia. :) You might also enjoy this one, which looks like it was made close to the time of the film anyway - at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua8_Xq8HASE

This particular mix is quite good, because we get to see the sisters very young, then a bit older, and so on.

You might like these two clips too, at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk_c3kkhmJM and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHx0djsA3oU

(The Peasall Sisters are featured in the first clip, talking about the film.)

The second clip features Buck, Cheryl & Sharon White (who sang "Keep On The Sunny Side") discussing their work on the film.

Hmm, I think it was "In The Highways". That's the song The Wharvey Gals were singing at the rally (or whatever it was), when Everett found their mom in the Five and Dime. That song was also sung (maybe the original version? Can't remember) at the very end of the movie, when the family was walking, and all the gals were tied together.

You are correct it was "In The Highways".

The first time the girls appear they are singing "In the Highways", but at the end they are singing "Angel Band"

if you take a look at the soundtrack, it's the last song on there. except on the soundtrack unfortuantely it's sung by a man, who has a great voice, but the girls are a lot more adorable.

i'm not full of virtues and noble qualities. i love. that is all.
