New DVD/Blu-Ray?

I bought the DVD a couple of years after the movie came out, and I was really disappointed that there was no commentary track. Has it been re-released with more features, since then?

I don't think it's been re-released, considering I own the DVD version from 2001. As for the Coen Brothers doing a commentary, I doubt they will do it considering the fact that all of their films, minus the one for the man who wasn't there which they did with Billy Bob Thornton, they rarely or never do a commentary on any of their films. I believe they let the films speak for themselves. Even the Criterion version of Inside Llewyn Davis doesn't contain a commentary by the Coen brothers

Well, nutbunnies. I love commentary tracks.

While the Cohens may not do a commentary, Inside Llewyn Davis was released a short while back with a detailed commentary.

So what I would love to see is this get the Criterion treatment and get something more. This film certainly deserves it.

I'll happily take EVERY Cohen film on Criterion. Every. One.

After having the DVD for a long time, I just got the Blu-ray (the under $20 from Amazon one, in case there's more than one edition, but I don't think here is), and it comes with the same extras that the DVD did: The Making of, plus the two story board vs. scene examples.

It also didn't seem to be remastered at all. So I agree with another post that said this one would do good with the Criterion treatment.

Be sure to proof your posts to see if you any words out

The blu-ray was released in 2011.
It's unfortunate that it did not have a commentary track.
But it does have a music video of the "Constant Sorrow" song.

Why would the blu-ray release need any remastering? The movie itself was finished digitally in the first place, so the master copy for both the DVD and the blu-ray is exactly as it was shown in theaters, with blu-ray actually giving a more accurate representation than the DVD due to the technical superiority of the BD format. There's simply nothing to "remaster," as it has already been mastered as far as it possibly can be! And the picture quality on the blu-ray is gorgeous. The de-saturated, "dust bowl" look is deliberate. That's simply how the movie is supposed to look.
