Art Deco in Farscape
I wonder--was it a conscious choice by the creators to incorporate what seem like Art Deco aesthetics into the show?
And I'm not just talking about the beautiful font used for titles and credits, which is classic art deco central. There's also the retro-sleek designs of the pulse pistols, the dramatic modern art-like murals in Peacekeeper quarters (though that might have more to do with them taken their emblem from a Bolshevik army), and of course Moya, which is all bronze and moodily lit curves.
In fact, I can think of lots of sci fi that used art deco motifs before, including the serials from when the art style was actually popular, but I've never seen it used with as much of its trademark bronze going on as on Moya.
