Questions about Chiana and Tayln John

Longtime fan of the show, but since the cancellation and release of PKW, the conversations have been drying up. I'm hoping there's still enough activity on this board to get some responses on a couple of things I was wondering about while rewatching the series for the millionth time.

1. Is Chiana in love with John? I know there was some heavy flirtation at the beginning, but then I started to think it was more of a brother/sister relationship...then Kansas aired, and I saw Chiana take off with Young Crichton. It may simply be that she does love him but knows that he and Aeryn are meant to be and takes advantage of the one time they can truly be together, but how deep is this affection she has for him? Does it eclipse her feelings for D'Argo?

2. In The Choice, Aeryn is given an image of Talyn Crichton's "spirit" who asks her to bring him back. Fraud? Truth? Just a plot vehicle to show she's truly moved on? It just puzzled me as to why they put that bit in there.

Hey there! I've seen the whole series a couple of times now. Although I would have to admit after the first full attention viewing the show ran a lot in the background whilst doing other stuff.

1. As for this one I would just chalk it up as her personality. She was and "outcast" on her planet. (now I hope that just by saying I don't want to spoil anything you'll know what I'm talking about.) But she never fitted in and had to undergo a lot of reprogramming or attempts to at least. My guess is that she was a free spirit, somehow innocent to a lot of things. This gets a bit more clear when John is watching the documentary tape from their time back on earth. Basically she just thinks: "It's just sex, what's the big deal" like having a drink or something. I got the image of a violent hippie, wierd as that sounds. And when she did develop feelings for someone which made the thing called sex more meaningful, it scared her.

2. I wouldn't know. I can't really remember that part. Maybe it was an visualisation of her thoughts at that time. Not wanting to admit to something so her mind made her see John. (also would be your plot vehicle). You could always explain that stuff with Zhan or Stark. The have communication link type hoodoo and whatnot.

Lemme know what you think about my Chiana theory.
