Rank the Female Characters

* How would you rank the female characters in the show, with "1." being the most liked and the last being the most disliked?

* What is it about your #1 favorite female character that makes her your favorite?

* Which cast member do you think is the best female actor and why?

To your third question, Claudia Black is the easy answer, without hesitation. I think Aeryn has the best arc of anyone on the show, and her performance is absolutely essential to it. It's funny, because the character arc of "tough-as-nails woman learns to let other people in" can be a cliché, but it feels completely natural thanks to strong writing and the passion Claudia Black puts into it.

Anyways, if we're going by main crewmembers (not counting Moya herself!):

1. Aeryn
2. Zhaan - an important moral center to the crew, but I liked that she was still threatening when she had to be. Wish we had seen more of her relationship with Stark.
3. Jool - I'm honestly not too irritated by this character, outside of a few early episodes. She reminds me of Nyssa from Doctor Who, being a slightly haughty young scientist who gets in arguments with another crewmember (Chiana). Maybe that's clouding my judgment. The scream can be irritating, though.
4. Chiana - Gigi Edgley's performance is probably one of the weirdest on the main cast (there's another thread on this board just about her mannerisms), but it fits well with Farscape's operatic tone. I don't think she's quite as interesting as Zhaan or Aeryn, but still a fun character.
5. Sikozu - Feels like a replacement for Jool's stuck-up scientist character sometimes--and they even gave her the whole red hair and giant forehead look! Also, the last episodes of season 4 and Peacekeeper Wars try to take a lot of character exposition for her meant for season 5 and cram it into a small space. But what makes Sikozu come into her own is Raelee Hill, who has a lot of fun with her performance and scenes like her kinky romance with Scorpius.
6. Noranti - She feels like too much of a doddering old lady caricature at first, but again, it's the actress having a lot of fun with the part that makes her likable even with some spots of inconsistent writing. By the end of season 4, I'd say Noranti is genuinely a badass.

Outside of the main crew, I really like some of the female Peacekeepers like Xhalax Sun and Jenavian Charto.

1: Aeryn. Great actress, and a great character. Her arc - the woman who grew up in a totalitarian environment and lived her entire life as a soldier until she met Chriton - is the best in the show. Watching her learn how to NOT be a Peacekeeper was a lot of fun. She goes from not comprehending the word "compassion" to being one of the most compassionate characters in the show in a very genuine way.

2: Chiana. Goes from a selfish, near-criminal runaway to a strong team player who has a great appreciation for her new "family".

3: Sikozu. I liked her for the most part. Kinda sucked what happened to her at the end, but I liked that she was smart and logical.

4: Jool. Okay, but that damn scream was annoying, and the whole spoiled brat routine was annoying too.

5: Noranti. Not bad, but not great, and a little over the top without much time to even develop her. Even Chriton didn't know how she got on the ship.

6: Zhaan. She just annoyed me with the pseudo-religious babbling. The Goddess this, the Goddess that. Ugh.

Whores will have their trinkets.

Chiana- only because I get people mentioning that we look and behave in a similar way.
I think they're saying that I have the same hair (I also get 'Priss' (?!) from Blade Runner) and that I'm obnoxious and get wellied too frequently...

If I could be one of them, deffo Claudia Black's character: she's strong, intelligent and let's be honest- the only one who's 'all that' and just...gorgeous!
