The stupid thing about the scene where the soldiers are killed while trying to surrender

They tried to surrender in the middle of a battle. If you try surrender in the middle of a battle, you'll almost definitely be killed. There's so much fear and adrenaline, once you start fighting, you it's very difficult to instantly stop.

I agree. I can’t believe it’s oft heralded as some kind of modern classic. It’s hilariously awful. Braveheart is a hundred times better.

Clearly the patriot dollar is a surefire winner for cynical studio execs.
