Any chance the reverend lived?

I know it's clear as daylight; he had the blank stare in his eyes before he even hit the ground, but it did seem he handed off the musket to Gabriel at the same time. Still, it seems strange because it was a fairly mild abdominal wound, along the side.

I'm just a wishful thinker.

You must be one hell of a medic to see someone is dead because of "the blank stare", if he is handing off a weapon after his death then there is two things possible: 1. He started the action before he died, or 2. he wasn't handing it off.

I think he DID hand it off and therefore wasn't dead at that particular moment.

Ow, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?

We don't see him in the final battle, it's clear in the movie he died shortly after his wound.

It's kinda of obvious he died before he even hit the ground, if you saw the scene.

2:06 or so.

It's just wishful thinking that he lived.

As much as I hoped he might have, I fear the minister did not live. Even if he survived immediately, the chances that he survived even a slight abdominal would are not very good. As late a WWI, abdominal wounds were difficult to treat and to survive.
