A curse or just accepting that people are dying all the time, everywhere.

Snatch made the same year has already three actors dead (dennis Farina and the actors playing Doug, and John who died last week).
Kids in 1995 has like four.
Lord of the Rings trilogy crew has at least three (fx Producer from cancer, sound editor from rafting accident and the swordmaster).

And thats just the start of it.

reply

Yeah, because death is such an uncommon occurrence, that everyone that was a part of the making of The Patriot has been cursed to die.

Way to turn a sad event into a joke, Nipsey_Russell. Even if it was not your intention, in my opinion, that's what you've gone and done.

I may not be able to prove that God is real, but you cannot prove that God is imaginary.

You know what? I'm sick and tired of these stupid, "The Curse of ..." posts. Her death had nothing to do with, "The Patriot." Neither did Heath Ledger's death. Death, as sad and tragic as it is, happens to us all.

reply

Maybe they have a point. I mean look at the curse of the Magnificent 7. All but one of them have died.

It wasnt me, it was the other three. Hang them!

reply

Death is not an uncommon occurrence. It happens every day, and it can happen to anyone at any moment. I could die in a car crash while driving to work this morning. Does that mean that I'm cursed? No. The fact that two actors who participated in this movie passed away, does not mean that there's a curse. This, "Curse of ..." nonsense is just that: nonsense.

Heath Ledger: Death due to accidental overdose. Not a, "curse."

Skye McCole Bartusiak: Death may have been caused by an epileptic seizure. Not a, "curse."

Also, why would, "The Patriot," be cursed, anyway?

reply

I was taking the piss! Hence using a movie over 50 years old as an example.

Two people dying many years apart is not a curse....

If you want to talk about a curse (which is BS anyway...) talk about Rebel Without a Cause

James Dean - Car crash shortly after filming
Natalie Wood - Drowning (possible murder/suicide)
Sal Mineo - Stabbed to death by a robber outside his apartment

All three lead actors dead before they were 40.

reply

And even in the case of that movie, 2 of the 3 died 20+ years after it was made. Poltergeist is more disturbing with Dominique Dunne being killed soon after the first movie came out and similarly with Heath O'Rourke in the third movie.

However, I do think there is something to be said about Atuk. The story goes that every actor that has shown interest or agreed to star in principle has died before filming could begin. John Belushi, Sam Kinison, John Candy and Chris Farley were all allegedly given the script and said they were interested shortly before they died.

reply

If they both died in 2001 maybe.....that movie is almost 15 years old. Too much time and distance to try and link these two factors.

Idiot.

1) Two people from this cast does not constitute a curse.

2) Neither death had anything to do with this film, being on set, anything.

You might as well list all the people who were born in the hospital nearest you since it opened, identify any that died while still young from various causes (including, of course, idiotic self-harm via drug use) and then announce that the hospital is cursed.

'Then' and 'than' are different words - stop confusing them.

374. ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 04/24 **#19**

Want Some Money?: This actress was probably never higher than B- list. I am probably being generous with that listing. The only reason I am even putting her that high up is that she did have a nice recurring role on a hit show during one season of its run. Our actress started off young. Very young. She probably couldn't have been more than 8 or 9 when she worked with this former A+ list mostly movie actor. He was someone she would turn to as she moved into her teens and started using drugs and was always in need of money. When she was about 16 or 17, she started using and it wasn't long before she made a call to him asking for money. He was happy to help. No questions asked. After a half dozen times asking though, he changed the script on her. If she wanted money she had to have sex with him. She was so addicted to drugs she willingly went along with it. Instead of trying to get her help, the Oscar winning actor just used her to fulfill his own twisted fantasies. When she was about 18, it was not just him that she was being forced to service. Our actor would ask if she needed money which was code for he had someone who wanted to sleep with her. She would always say yes, and actually began landing parts again because many of these men were producer and directors. None of the movies were memorable or ever really saw the light of day, but she did get some work. She thought she was going to make a comeback and even went to rehab. The thing is though, our actor liked her hooked and desperate and got her to start using again and servicing his friends. Our actress finally broke free of his clutches and went back to her hometown but she couldn't kick the drugs and was seeing guys for money and drugs right up to her death.
