Jason Isaacs...

Jason Isaacs can play a damn good villian. He was so evil in this movie...my gosh I just wanted to rip his head off....Not to mention the other films that I can think of where he plays a villian....the Harry Potter movies, and Peter Pan. He is a great actor, I just wanted to kill his character in this movie. What a heartless creature...

His character was based on Banastre Tarleton. A highly effective cavalry commander who defeated the Rebels in no less than 40 skirmishes and bouts. However, Tarleton was no where near as villainous. He was demonised by Rebel propaganda and given the title of 'Bloody Ban' as a result of his success not because he was some sadistic homicidal maniac.

I was subbing at a middle school today and the social studies teacher left this movie for the kids to watch. They all knew Jason Issacs. He is indeed a fantastic actor.

Yep, excellent villain-playing Brit, and utterly gorgeous.

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾

I know this is an old thread but you know how the internet works, you stumble upon something random after the last...

Anyhow I was like 12 when this movie came out, never saw it in theaters, only started watching it when I was about 14 when I grabbed my parents' DVD copy of it. Since then I've seen it probably 200 times haha.

Jason Isaacs is what kept me coming back to this film. I feel he is a devastatingly underrated actor and as one previous poster mentioned I feel he should have awards for this role. Since then, only Heath Ledger as the Joker and Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa have kept me virtually on the edge of my seat in any movie. And I see a lot of movies. Isaacs contributed to my desire to study acting in college and he was just so convincing in the role. Not to mention he pretty much awakened my sexuality with this role....holy crap. Who knew an older evil British guy with mustang hair and icy blue eyes could get me going like that! But I date a military man now, maybe it's the uniform (??)

Point being yeah Jason Isaacs needs to headline films. I don't see why he doesn't.

His character is not only literally my most hated villain in a movie, there is also no villain even close to him for that honor in my eyes.

Haters gonna hate
