He was someone who joined the British as he saw the colonialists are traitors but he was very upset when John Isaacs burned the church and everyoe in the village...I thought he might help Mel Gibson in the end...

He was a loyalist. Had he survived the war, he likely would have moved to Canada or Louisiana, or possibly Britain.

His role was to show that there were Loyalists who still wanted to be under British rule.

The film doesn't go into the Loyalist cause very much at all. That's probably the reason Baldwin's character is very much a supporting role.🐭 share
