Gwyneth steps on a napkin??

What was the meaning of the scene in the diner where Gwyneth suddenly gets up from the booth, steps on a napkin, and sits back down?? I didn't understand that.

Oh I see- Thanks. That makes sense.

that was toilet paper trailing from her shoe as she had just returned from the restroom

I thought it was a piece of toilet paper. the woman had been to the ladies' room and came out with the toilet paper stuck to her shoe. She and her date were all dressed up. GP stepped on it so when the girl got to the booth she wouldn't be humiliated by the toilet paper dragging behind her. BA was impressed when he saw this random act of kindness.

Kudos to you, "intofilm." Your assessment of the "toilet paper on the shoe" scene is right on target!

That scene reminded me of once when I was walking down a hallway and a young lady exited a restroom ahead of me and I noticed that her wispy skirt was caught up in the back in her underwear providing a nice rear view and being the nice random act of kindness gentleman I was, I immediately turned around and went the other way and ducked into the lunch room.

It would have been much kinder to just bite the bullet and tell her so she didn't walk into a meeting with her situation all showing. Better to be embarrassed in front of one person that 20.

Whip.
i would have done same.

i thought it was interesting and well-done, quite"realistically beautiful"when ben seen
gwen character,do something like that.HE WAS SO IMPRESSED,as most men with a great heart
and kind soul, mature soul"notice lil things like that was really beautiful, and show what type of incredible, awesome woman she is."

I just really LOVE THAT SCENE,have it on right now.

I thought it was a good scene too! Very thoughtful.

With that said though, the scene reminded me of something that happened years ago when I was at a bar with a buddy of mine. We're standing on a slightly elevated level looking out over an open area when a very lovely lady is walking by and she is trailing toilet paper stuck to her shoe as well.

I pointed this out to my buddy who, admittedly, had probably had way too much to drink at the time. He immediately sort of yells, "Hey" at the girl with the intention of helping her out just like Gwen did, by telling her that she has toilet paper stuck to her shoe.

She looks up at us with this disgusting 'who are you to be talking to me kinda look'. At this point my buddy promptly replies, "Never mind!"

At least there wasn't poop on it
