SOMEBODY TO TELL ME THE END OF THE FILM

Please, I need someone to tell me the end of the film. I saw it last night, on a cable tv station, and found it quite good. However, my phone rang just at the very last shoot and I missed it (for God's sake, what a damn hour to call me!!). What happens with Callun just before he falls over? What does his wife's message on answer machine say? Has anything to do with the final? I've just seen the police cars arriving at his house. Thanks for any help, since the cable tv station is not due to show it again.

LOL! Ignore the phone next time. It truly isn't that important --especially when one can't pause the movie.

His wife tells him that she sent the letter with the tape to the DA, as addressed.

it ended with bill pullman's character (the long lost dad/lawyer/judge etc) getting stomped on by three escaped CHIMPS from a local zoo. I'm serious.....they just end the movie like that!

Devon's character goes free.

ya it was a very unexpected ending. those chimps came out of nowhere. didnt see that coming at all.

i think it was symbolic for the savagery and artistic nature of the movie and life in general.

His wife says, not exact words, but she went to her mother's like he said she should, and that by bad habit, she mailed the envelope on the desk. The envelope contained the tape where Callun is telling his son that he raped that lady and he doesn't care if he (the son) kills him. So, yeah what his wife says is very important. It ends with the cops ringing his doorbell and that's it.
