Wish This Movie Never Ended

Is it just me, or does anyone else wish this movie could've gone on for hours and hours? It's a film that invites you in and almost makes you want to be a part of it, or at least observe it for as long as you can. The whole world, the characters, the atmosphere is something that you really don't see in movies anymore and I miss that.

Read the book, I just finished it. It's great.

I know exactly what you mean. You don't often get lost in the world of a movie like that; most movies you can only rewatch so many times because the drive of the narrative gets repetitive, but it's not so much the narrative of Wonder Boys that does it as its whole world and the way the story seems to spill from the characters (rather than be imposed upon them). Very few movies can do it; I think they have to be made with real affection from the part of the filmmakers and cast for the audience to feel that affection, the way I do when I watch it.

If I have to tell you again, we're gonna take it outside and I'm gonna show you what it's like!

I want to sit on Grady's porch in the rain to see who shows up next.

I would agree. This movie captures you like not many others do.
I have to return some video tapes.

I totally one hundred percent agree! There are some paintings that I wish I could live in and just explore, and I feel exactly the same about this movie and this movie alone!

Gretchen: You're weird.
Donnie: Sorry.
Gretchen: No, that was a compliment.

I can't explain how odd it is to agree with someones post so one hundred percent. Great movie and I wish I could watch it all day long.

Agree completely with your description. One, I love movies set at colleges, love the actors/chemistry. The movie made me want to go to Wordfest! I watch this once a year.

I was living in Pittsburgh when this was being filmed. I was able to see some of it being filmed (the grocery store where James gets the OJ and doughnuts was just down the street from my house) and saw RDJ at Tom's Diner on Carson Street one night. I knew nothing about the flick while it was being filmed but was eagerly awaiting it's release.

It's been one of my all time favorites since I saw it in early 2000. After watching it again last night I'm more convinced how special it is. Plus, it's one of the only non-superhero movies to have three superheroes in the cast.
