sharefunny, I had high hopes when the film started, getting to know the characters etc but I just think it lost it's way.
sharehow old are you? it's not a slam - btw this is just about my favorite film of the past 20 years and have seen it probably 8-10 times. I love action, historical drama, sci fi and comedy - and when critical acclaim is so universal, it might mean you've overlooking something really good - but I also have been on the opposite side of everyone's opinion
and when something flops with the American public, it's often a good sign - sometimes even a badge of honor.
I vote it is a brilliant film, FYI the book is even better.
