"It just looked really lonely, hanging there in a closet!"

Is it possible that what James said about Marilyn Monroe's jacket being "really lonely, hanging in a closet" could have been hinting that he was possibly gay, and as a result was feeling lonely and insecure about his identity?

What are some of your thoughts?

I think its pretty clear he was gay, although i never considered that this could be a hint. I took as another example of his tendency to use colloquial flourishes during normal conversations.
