Methinks I'm Going Mad..

...I keep remembering these really LOOPY scenes and snippets from an old My Little Pony video I picked up and must've watched when I was about five. I just need someone to tell me it really WAS from this tv show,and I didn't just spend my childhood on hallucinogenic drugs instead...

There was a magic locket which was pink and heartshaped, and about halfway through, a girl called Megan had to fly on a flying pony's back and either picked up or dropped the locket, but something dangerous was happening on the ground. There were creatures made of lava,and they sang a song. There were also spiky ones made of ice which froze things, and some caves. They were evil. I think.

Another episode involved a fat with bad table manners who kept shouting at people, and the real prince or princess was like, locked away. There were curtains. A magic castle.

I do realise that the longer I talk about this, them ore it sounds as though I spent my childhood eating LSD, but I really don't remember doing that :D - can anyone tell me if either of these episodes seem familiar, and if so which ones they were? any help appreciated, I'm certain it was the 80's tv series,not the 90's one!
