I don't remember if this was an actual episode or not, but i remember something like the ponies having their noses disfigured when something happened to them. sorry its really vague, but does anyone know if this was an episode?

I think you're thinking of the episode 'Sonambula', which is one of the single disc DVD's.
A witch lures the ponies to her lair, and drains their youth, turning their old and wrinkled (hence the disfigured noses). The Big Brother Ponies come to their rescue and save the day.
The entire series (The MLP segments at least) is out on DVD.
