Satanism?

According to Phil Philips, author of the book, Turmoil in the Toybox, this was one of the cartoons that was supposed to have satanic overtones. He refered to the book of Revelations to back up his point.

Does anyone know what he said exactly? What passage was he refering to?

Well, they did rape and kill Danny in Season 2, then killed Spike and ate him while offering both to the Dark Lord as virgin sacrifices.

They don't put people like us in hell, we'd only end up running the place.

ummm...I don't know about "Satanism" exactly. But there are a lot of Pagan/Deist overtones in the series, specifically that it could be construed that the ponies worship the sun or nature. There are no Satanic elements to this show, but I could see how someone from a Fundamentalist Christian point of view could pinpoint scenes where the ponies were acting like heathens or something.

There is also a good case that the Escape From Katrina episode could be advocating Communism...those Bushwillies could easily be Bolcheviks...McCarthy wouldn't have liked this show very much.

OMG I was looking through the threads looking for a reference to the Bushwillies... I dont hink this was the type of thread o was expecting to see them in, but when you say the bushwillies... do you mean the flowers that come alive? and if so do you happen to know the epidsode it is in? thanks so much in advance... that was one of my favorites...

" You're so wise. You're like a miniature Buddha, covered with hair."

reply

the bushwillies were the little furry guys that rolled into balls

you're talking about the "fleuries" who were a group of evil flowers that started out small and helpless then grew into plant monsters that terrorized ponyland after the well-meaning ponies nursed them back to health. there were also "crab nasties" which were like a rogue police force of giant crabs that followed the fleuries to control them in that episode.

oh, and the episode was titled "fugitive flowers"

Just a quick FYI, the 'bushwillies' are called bushwoolies ^_~ And how you get satanic undertones from MLP???

reply

Phil Philips got satanic overtones in EVERY childrens cartoon/line of toys in the 80s.

EVEN CARE BEARS?

reply

Yes, even Care Bears. Basically any cartoon show where HUMANS weren't running the show, or shows where people got magical powers (He-Man) were deemed Satanic.

Reading is like meat... for your brain!

Wow now here's a post I just had to read. When your looking at a message board for a children's show such as My Little Pony and you see a post about Satanism you just have to read it or you'll go crazy wondering what the hell?! Scary to think there are really people out there who would make that connection but to Christian fundamentalists pretty much all television programs are satanic and Spongebob is homosexual propaganda. I wonder if this show might perhaps be solely responsible for the increase in crime and the War in Iraq. Food for thought.

Apocolypse Pony.
