"The next terminator is going to be hard to top..." quote from 1991

A friend of mine in 1991 said that it would be hard to top the T-1000.

"It will have to be a ninja or something that can do flips."

The T-1000, advanced prototype could morph as well as mimick voices (as the T-800), absorb a lot of damage (more than its predecessor). T-850 did top it.

The T-850 as I remember:
*Absorb more damage than its predescessors
*Mimick voices
*morph
*AND... ability to control machines via nanoprobes and wireless connection
*Ability to establish handshake and speak to other computers via phone.
*Multi-weapon on warm
*Ability to leave behind part of itself (magnetic accelerator) and continue (more than an arm like in T2 or even both legs and a single arm.

Anything else I leave out from T-850?

@Draco1138 Nerd alert: Arnold is the T-850. You're talking about the T-X.

reply

OOOPS!

How could I have missed that?!

Arnold was T-850, though he did have some upgrades even if he was an obsolete model.

T-X was the working model from the advanced prototype T-1000

@Draco1138 It's OK, you can relax - I forgive you.

In actuality, if they really wanted to be more correct; the Terminators should have gone T-850, TX, and then T-1000. Solid to solid covered with poly mimetic and then full poly mimetic.

The reasons of why the T-850 was able to outdo the T-1000 and the TX was because the point was made, human interaction fared better than being systematic. Terminators, from Skynet, will only carry out their mission, calculating and being the most efficient; however, when the T-850 was interacting with humans, it observed how to be more creative in certain situation and this allowed it to ultimately win. We could always go back to the, if this protagonist T-850 died, then the movie franchise would be over as John Connor would be dead. For the sake of not saying that, we can agree that human interaction was the end all factor.

I always thought, if there were to be a terminator that could beat either the TX or the T-1000; it should be a gas. What?! Yeah, a gas. It can transform, be totally transparent at times, still be able to form sharp solid objects as well as float/fly. Now that would be lethal! The only way to destroy it would be to contain it in a denser alloy vacuum.

Better watch out, better start crying. Better hurry up, run and hide. Krampus is coming to town! >:)

it's a time travel movie. who can refute that they were all sent chronologically in order of advancement (ie the T-1000 could have been made after TX but sent to an earlier time).

I'm no James Cameron. I am just suggesting a trend of progression.

Actually, in the extended Terminator universe the T-X is the far superior model to the T1000. It is said there Skynet could only build a couple of these models or it would run out of resources. The T-X is considered so advanced that even Skynet itself feared it could turn against him, as it is totally independent and really powerful. In a fight, the T1000 would not stand a chance against it...
