Can anyone find me a way to download some of the songs Mike Schank plays on the acoustic throughout the movie (specifically the main theme)? I feel like i've searched everywhere and can't seem to find them AT ALL.

You can buy a cd of his music from the website www.americanmovie.com. I just sent him an email asking if his address is still the same because I would love to get my hands on a cd.

I don't think that email is valid any more. I ordered my CD about 2 years ago using the address on the website and received a personalized copy of Mike's "Songs I know". Granted, americanmovie.com hasn't seen an update in ages, but I'm willing to bet that's still his current mailing address. If not, then your check will be returned to you, so you've got nothing to lose!

yeah it still works i got my cd a few months back, and its pretty sweet

Um, not sure how much this will help, but one of the main songs he plays is "Dee", written by Randy Rhoads, which is a short instrumental piece that appears on Ozzy Osbourne's "Blizzard of Ozz" album.

They did a wee tour with the movie doing Q&A sessions and Mike was selling tapes of "Songs That I Know" on one side and "Songs That I Wrote" on the other. Tons o folk bought them that day (except me, which was bl**dy stupid) Maybe folk still have that kicking about.

At least one song Mike performed in the film was a cover of musician Mark Mirkos Alvarado's "The Remains Of Children's Brains".

Mark Mirkos Alvarado died suddenly on June 11, 2006.

Mark was a childhood friend of Mike's.
