The Reverse Sun Burn

I was watching the movie the other night for the first time with the commentary and I wouldn't have noticed it without the director pointing it out, but there is a scene where Mark is outside without a shirt on and he has a reverse sun burn in which his body is completely red and his face is peferctly fine and white, with a nice ring around his neck where a shirt would be. I thought this was one of the funniest things I'v seen, how is this even possible? Unless you walked around without your shirt on with a mask on or a hood executioners style. I'd like to hear any other possibilites because I would like to obtain one this summer.

I just watched it last night and noticed the same thing. It kinda looked like his cheeks were a bit red though. Im thinking that maybe his hair blocked the neck area leaving it white? But yeah, wierd as hell.
