The first time I saw this film,

I was only 13 years old, and I didn't really understand it. I missed the irony, the nuances, and I didn't understand how brilliant Bill was. I dismissed it as a "boring" documentary. I also gave me the impression that aspiring filmmakers led depressing mundane lives.

OK, fast forward to 2008: Now I'm a college junior studying film. I recently rewatched this film with a new perspective and newfound appreciation. Maybe in another decade I'll have yet again another opinion.

Honestly, now I think I should rewatch almost every film that I had watched before the age of 19. (With the exception of Home Alone, and other like movies)

not a bad plan, miss sola. let us know how it goes!

(books can be like that too, completely different when you re-read them when older... sometimes better sometimes worse.)
