Mark deserves respect

Because where a lot (A LOT) of people talk about making movies all the time, he at lest does it and he's a good enough director to maybe someday do something great.

And we rock! Because it's us against them, we found our own reasons to sing

I concur. A lot of people who make it big - in film or otherwise - have serious family back up, and an expensive education. Mark just has will. I like Coven (American Movie too but that's a different matter - he's just the subject and appears edited according to the vision of the film makers) wish him the best.

I wanna find out why I'm working - the answer can't be just to pay bills and pile up more money.

Except he didn't ever make it. His goal was to make "Northwest", to this day, even after inheriting $50K, he has failed to do so.

At the end of the day, regardless of his methods or talents, he put himself out there and took a shot. There are plenty of people who talk themselves out of doing great things everyday because they are worried that they aren't good enough. I can't hate on him for going for it.

Well, sure. But that's an entirely different situation. But point taken. :-)

Don't let my parents hear you say that or they'll start having expectations for me again

The cool thing about Mark is he's lazy and usually drunk and still managed to accomplish a few things.

I don't feel he's lazy at all. A lazy person would have given up a long time ago.

I don't get peoples attitude towards Mark. He's a great guy. Flawed, but great. And so what if he got help from his family, why is that a big deal all of a sudden? He's followed his dreams, been given help, and so what if he isn't making grade A Hollywood blockbusters? At least he's in the industry he enjoys with the people he cares about the most in the world.
