Does anyone have the DVD version?

I first watched this when it came out on t.v. and loved seeing it again last night, but I noticed a story is missing on the vhs version I rented about a year ago. The video version leaves out the story of the joking Sultan and the beggar (next to last story). Someone else noticed it as well because it's listed on the "alternate versions" menu. I want to buy the DVD version, but would like to know if it is also missing this key scene.

I have the dvd version and yes, it does have the joking Sultan and beggar story.

That's really the most important story. Stupid of them to cut that one out for time issues. If I was editing the tape, I would have cut out the second story about the hunchback. It was entertaining, but not not as crucial to Schariar's redemption.

got my DVD copy new in box at Block buster. Its been a few years since I purchased it....you could try to find it on Amazon. good luck. well worth having.

My friend has the dvd version and yes, it does have the joking Sultan and beggar story on it.

does the dvd cut out any scenes? i wanna buy it but not sure until i noe they kept all the stories in or not?

You should try to rent the dvd first.

It runs 139 minutes !
