There are 6 generations of Pokemon, from Red and Blue to X and Y.
From those generations, which do you think is the best?
Gen 1 (Red, Blue, Yellow)
Gen 2 (Gold, Silver, Crystal)
Gen 3 (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald)
Gen 4 (Pearl, Diamond, Platinum)
Gen 5 (Black, White, Black 2, White 2)
Gen 6 (X, Y)
While I do like Gen 1, mostly due to nostalgia, my favorite is Gen 4.
I'll make it two:
Gens 1 and 2 and it's more than just nostalgia. These two really showed some effort in creativity and heart. Ho-oh was the chain link between these two show how his appearance in the very first episode highlighted what was yet to come and Ash realizing that his real goal was not for glory, but to try and create respect and understanding between human to human, and human to Pokemon.
Gen.3 and 4 were just so-so
as for the rest, I don't really care, the designs are just uninspired.
In My Opinion
Gen 1&Gen 2 is Nostalgic
Gen 4&Gen 6 are the best
Gen 3&Gen 5 is OK
But Hey, I Like all Pokemon Generations
Generation 3 gets my vote. I liked Emerald, Fire Red and Leaf Green the best.

I like Generation I simply for the appearance and creativity of the Pokemon.

Never played gen 4. Gen 5 was stupid (oh this story is soooo complex and mature, no it *beep* isn't it was stupid and pretentious and the Pokemon designs were ass not in concept just in aesethic) gen 6 was pretty good but too easy at times.
