Misty Needs More Love!

As I mentioned in a previous post on this board, Misty the "Tomboyish Mermaid" saved my life recently; rediscovering her and the classic Pokémon episodes as a whole helped me finally move on from a real girl I had a crush on way back when, who didn't love me back.

Looking back, I'm honestly disheartened big time that, not only has the original leading lady on this show not physically appeared on it in a decade or so (and has since apparently only made ONE voiced appearance via a FLASHBACK in that time; though that's better than nothing, no doubt) but that Ash, himself, keeps swapping and dropping new girl companions on and off all the while. That boy's OBLIVIOUS TO LOVE (and his new VA, unlike Misty's, sounds LARGELY if not ENTIRELY off from his character, and is either way NO Veronica Taylor; at least MISTY'S replacement voice sounds IN CHARACTER more or less, even if not EXTREMELY similar to Rachael Lillis, for all of TWO appearances with it she's made since the decade-old VA switch, but that's another story entirely!)

Verdict, if that 20th movie (supposedly based on episode 1 of the show) is released in Japan this year (AND other countries sometime after), they'd better throw Misty in there, for various reasons:

1) This new movie's again supposedly based on the first episode of the show, in which the Tomboyish Mermaid, of course, DID appear (however briefly...)
2) Again, It'd give Michelle Knotz more time to work with this character and show how she's FAR more Rachael Lillis than Sarah Natochenny will EVER be Veronica Taylor (even after 10 PLUS YEARS, no less!)
3) Most importantly: WE MISS MISTY!!! SHE NEEDS TO BE RE-ACKNOWLEDGED AND REAPPEAR PERIOD!

Long live Misty Waterflower of Cerulean Gym!!!! 💙💙💙

I'm definitely excited for the new Pokémon The Movie I Choose You film. I need to buy it when it's in America. Misty was the best friend Ash ever had along with Pikachu and I'm excited to see her in the new movie.

Has she been confirmed to be in the 20th movie? If so, I'm sold!!! Especially since it either way seems to be hardening back to the Golden Age episodes (which have no doubt been largely superior to any (or at least MANY) of the pre "Advanced" episodes...
