When Maximus finally killed Commodus did he stick a knife or something through his neck/head? This was the awaited climatic scene but it was hard for me to see and understand.There were many angles and cuts but none I remember as visually understandable.Help?
shareGreat questions. I'd prolly have to watch the movie again, though, to answer them. It's been quite a many years. But, I do remember Maximus does a Rudy, but from memory, I'm sure it's never confirmed that Commodus dies, we just see him wounded... leaves it open for a sequel.
shareBecause of the age of Lucilla's son, I always thought that Commodus must have survived except we want to accept the movie is completly fictionalized. The boy would be already of age by the time Commodus die, so it would make much more sense that Gladiator 2 is set during the time of Commodus real succession in 192. The Year of the Five Emperors is for sure the best plot Gladiator 2 could pick up.
